To test some features of our newest drones in the SWUF-fleet, we brought two of them to the ISARRA 2026 flight week campaign INFUSSE (ISARRA Northern Florida UAS Sampling of the Shoreline Environment). We were flying with the two drones about 200 m from the coast onshore, expanding a 30-m tower with vertical profiles up to 350m and hover periods of up to 55 minutes at 50m and 100m above the tower.
Additionally, we flow some low-level transects over the shore up to about 100 m over the ocean and as low as 10 m above the sea surface.
The joint campaign with multiple other multicopter and fixed-wing UAS was a great effort to show the capabilities of UAS and sample a unique dataset of micro to mesoscale flow along the shoreline.
We are looking forward to the analyses of the data and future ISARRA activities!
